This concern extends to the intent of investigators to protect the animals as well as comply with the specific requirements established and regulated by the sponsors of their research. The university has established the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) to support the quality animal care and use program and establish policies, procedures, resources, and facilities which define the program.
