The Gallery Exhibition Research Assistant (GERA) program offers valuable and interesting volunteer work experience for Saint Joseph’s University students interested in the arts.

As part of this program, students work with both of SJU’s galleries in Boland Hall and Merion Hall doing the following:

  • Interviewing artists and professors
  • Conducting research
  • Writing texts about the exhibitions for use on the gallery walls as well as for publicity on the gallery website
  • Helping install the exhibits

This experience is especially valuable for students looking for jobs in the arts (looks great on resumes).

Guidance is provided by Art History Program Director, Dr. Emily Hage, and Associate Gallery Director, Jeanne Bracy.
