Small businesses are the engine of the U. S. economy, and veterans make up 10% of small business owners, representing over 2.5 million businesses. Saint Joseph's University Office of Veterans Services is proud to offer entrepreneurship training for current and aspiring veterans in small business. These programs, while part of the renowned Haub School of Business, are not intended for our student-veterans.

Our offerings include entrepreneurship training and assistance in locating and accessing small business resources. Each program is described in more detail through the links below.

Entrepreneurship Training

Since 2015 Saint Joseph's University has trained over 200 new and aspiring entrepreneurs through its innovative training programs. The Veterans Entrepreneurial Jumpstart (VEJ) program, offered from 2015 -  2018, was developed with our nationally recognized Haub School of Business faculty to introduce participants to the art and science of small business management. Since 2016, we have offered the Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans (EBV) program in association with Syracuse University's Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF) Both programs are offered at Minimal Cost to eligible veterans, and have received grant support from the U. S. Small Business Administration. Congratulations to our most recent cohort, who completed EBV in March, 2022.

Small Business Resources for Veterans

Entrepreneurs can find the search for resources and assistance for their small business challenging. The U. S. Small Business Administration has launched a program to assist under-served populations to identify and navigate small business services available to them under the Community Navigator Pilot program. Saint Joseph's University participates in this program, supporting veteran small business owners in Pennsylvania as a navigation and education partner.

Funded in part through a Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
