Testimonials

Choosing the Chapel of Saint Joseph’s was very special for us. I was very involved in campus ministry throughout my time at SJU, through liturgical ministry and the service trips, that the chapel became a place I went to as much as any other academic building on campus.  My college years were when I really grew deeper in my faith, so celebrating the sacrament of marriage in the chapel was very meaningful for me.  We loved the simplicity and beauty of the chapel.  Although my husband did not attend Saint Joseph’s, he immediately felt part of the Hawk Hill family as we met with Diane Hankee to go over our ceremony. Diane went above and beyond in helping us create the perfect ceremony, from choosing the music to the readings, and most of all, in helping us incorporate my Filipino traditions in the mass. She helped to make our wedding a very sacred and memorable event for us.

Attending a wedding at the SJU chapel was both special and lots of fun. As an alumnus, it really was like walking down memory lane as I walked up from Campion to the Chapel doors. I was flooded with fond memories of the past and even remembered meeting the bride-to-be in a spot on that very same path. The chapel is just as beautiful as I remember, and so the combination of a bright, inviting space mixed with warm memories made it a great day.

It was a wonderful experience for me to marry Michael and Courtney at the place where they first met – at St. Joseph University. The wedding was beautiful.

The opportunity to participate in Michael & Courtney’s wedding on 6/21/14 at the chapel of Saint Joseph was very moving.  The beauty of the setting, the joyous nature of the service and the aura of peace touched all in attendance.  Never prouder of Saint Joseph’s University then I was on 6/21/14.  Thanks!

Our experience at St. Joe’s was wonderful. Beautiful space, beautiful music. Diane was very welcoming and had everything under control.

What I loved most was the spirit of the chapel. It was special to us to be married at SJU where we met, and the chapel was bright, open, and beautifully simple. Having our friends and family surround us rather than watching from the back of the aisle was very intimate and let us see every guest who attended.

My experience presiding at a wedding service at St. Joseph’s Chapel was a very good one. The main reason for this is the expert and professional guidance and help of Diane Hankee and Joe Donahue (sacristan.) They were ready to assist in any way I needed them beforehand with the paperwork all the way up to and including the rehearsal. The appointments of St. Joseph’s Chapel are very, very nice and conducive to a meaningful and appropriate nuptial service or Mass. I look forward to my next experience with Diane and Joe at St. Joe’s.
