Getting a jumpstart with Co-op
Sean Cincotta ‘17 credits the Haub School of Business’ co-op program with preparing him for his career by submerging him in professional environments and teaching him valuable lessons about time management, teamwork, communication and how to work with a wide array of people.
“As soon as I started to co-op, I saw the value. SJU does everything right – providing opportunities to network and building that network with alumni and businesses and providing support while you are in the co-op program,” he says. “It’s not just about getting you a job, but about developing you as a professional.”
How did you first learn of your position?
“I first saw the opening posted on the SJU career site, by an alumnus working in the New York office.”
A whirlwind interview experience
In the Fall of his senior year, Sean boarded a private plane headed to Little Rock, Arkansas, for a final interview at the headquarters of the family-owned finance company, Stephens Financial. By the time he stepped back onto the ground in Pennsylvania, he had a call with a job offer.
How did your SJU experience influence your job search?
“At SJU people are committed to each other, it’s a close-knit, encouraging community where you can go outside your comfort zone and meet new people. I wanted to find that in a workplace, too.”
