We are excited to announce that we are now offering free group fitness classes for all students, faculty and staff members. Group fitness classes are a great way to get yourself into a fitness routine while having fun! Be sure to check out class descriptions and information below.

  • Indoor sessions begin October 5th in the O'Pake Upper Gym.
  • Each session will be limited to 10 participants and require a reservation.
  • Participants are required to wear a mask and have an SJU ID for check in.
  • Participants are asked to bring their own mat/towel and water bottle.

Barre- Barre is inspired by aspects of yoga, pilates, and ballet. Through small, controlled, isometric movements, this class will tighten and tone the muscles which will leave you feeling the burn!

Bootcamp- This bootcamp is a full body, high energy workout that gets your heart rate moving. This interval based class improves your overall cardiovascular endurance and is made of daily challenges that will keep you motivated. No previous experience needed!

HIIT- Stands for High Intensity Interval Training! By combining high intensity cardio bursts, with lower intensity strength building exercises, you'll get a total body workout and even continue to burn calories for hours after the class ends.

Intermediate Yoga- Synchronize your mind and body with breath and dynamic movement in a cleansing and invigorating, complete intermediate mind-body practice. Lou will guide you through movement in a rhythmic and fluid manner to increase range of motion, build strength, dissolve tension and enhance clarity. *Bring water and a towel! Mats will be placed 6-8 feet apart.

Intermediate Bootcamp- This strength based, fast moving bootcamp is a full body, high energy workout that gets your heart rate moving. This interval based class improves your overall cardiovascular endurance and is made of daily challenges that will keep you motivated. Previous experience recommended.

Strength Training- This strength conditioning class focuses on high repetition and high weight. Exercises will include dumbbells and will focus more on form and the breakdown of functional movement patterns (push, pull, hinge, rotate, lunge, squat).

Yoga- Synchronize your mind and body with breath and dynamic movement in a cleansing and invigorating, complete all-levels mind-body practice, surrounded by the sounds of the outdoors. Michelle will guide you through movement in a rhythmic and fluid manner to increase range of motion, build strength, dissolve tension and enhance clarity. *Bring water and a towel! Mats will be placed 6-8 feet apart.

Zumba- Zumba Fitness is a fun way to dance your way to a healthy body! With Latin-inspired music and easy to follow dance moves, you will begin to burn calories and sculpt your body.
