Come and listen to Dr. Kersey-Matusiak, a Professor Emerita and former Coordinator for Diveristy and Holy Family University. Currently, Dr. Kersey-Matusiak serves as an adjunct in the Health Studies Program at SJU, teaching Health and the School Aged-Child and Diversity in Healthcare. She holds a PhD in Pscyho-Eucational Processes from Temple University and a certificate in Culturally Compentent Human Services from the former Multicultural Training and Research Institute at Temple Uniersity, an MSN in Nursing form Villanova Univeristy and a BSN from Gwynedd-Mercy College.

Personal Statement Writing Workshop

Come to learn about the purpose of a personal statement for graduate school application purposes. Content will be focused on Health Professions applications but all students are welcome to attend! Topics to be discussed will also include how to brainstorm ideas and what graduate programs are looking for in this part of the application. We will hear from alumni Dr. David O'Gurek, MD and SJU Writing Center Director, Dr. Jenny Spinner. The session will be recorded and posted on the Health Professions Advising website in the event you are unable to attend.

This workshop will provide students with detailed information on the Health Professions Advisory Committee (HPAC) process for the coming year. Students who are applying for Medical, Dental, Optometry, Podiatry and Veterinary Schools are encouraged to take part in the HPAC process to prepare them for the application process for their field of choice.
