This weekends outages: June 22-24

Please be aware that there are two planned IT outages this weekend that may impact your work:


Blackboard will be unavailable on Sunday, June 24, 2012 from 5AM until 7AM for Blackboard application maintenance.
Campus Pack  and SafeAssign will be upgraded to the latest versions.

Cascade (CMS)

The Cascade Server (CMS) will be down starting at 7AM on Sunday, June 24, 2012.  During this down-time we will be upgrading our current version of Cascade to Cascade version 7.0. The Cascade server should be back online by Sunday evening.  Please make sure you have submitted and published any unresolved work that may be open before this time.  When Cascade is back online, use the following URL: to access Cascade.  Also, please be sure to update any bookmarks you may have saved in your browsers.

IT Outage: June 22

On Friday, June 22, 2012 from 5AM until approximately 9AM, all network services will be intermittently unavailable in certain campus locations.  These services include internet access, sjuwireless, e-mail, Banner, Blackboard, network share drives and network printers.

The purpose of this outage is to make network infrastructure improvements.

Hawks Nest


Merion Gardens

Moore Hall

Now offering the Apple MacBook Pro with Retina Display!

On Monday, Apple officially released the MacBook Pro with Retina Display. The new MacBook Pro is noticeably lighter and thinner. In order to achieve the 18mm width, the DVD SuperDrive has been removed. The actual weight of the MacBook Pro with Retina Display is 4.46 pounds, compared to the MacBook Pro’s weight of 5.6 pounds.

This new version of the MacBook Pro is being offered on our Technology Purchasing site. We will continue to offer the MacBook Pro as well. If you are planning to purchase the new model, you can purchase an Apple USB SuperDrive to play or burn CDs and DVDs. Also be aware that you will be spending almost an additional $300 for the newer laptop.

Student Help Desk Summer Hours/Location


For the duration of the summer (through Monday, August 6th), the Student Help Desk will be located in the Science Center’s Rm. 113.  At this location, the SHD will be able to complete the same services and repairs that were previously carried out.   The hours for the SHD are as follows:

Monday – Thursday:  9:00AM – 5:00PM

Friday:  9:00AM – 1:00Pm
