IT Outage: Drexel Library – 7/28

On Friday, July 28th, from 7:00am – 10:00am, Network Services will be moving data jacks to new switch ports in the Drexel Library.

What does this mean?

During that outage window, users in the Drexel Library can expect rolling outages of 2-3 minutes as connections are moved to the new switch.

Planned Outages: June, 2016

On June 3rd and 4th, OIT will be performing Network maintenance in Pennbrook and Merion Gardens.  During this time, network (internet), telephone, and TV services will be unavailable.

The work will begin Friday, June 3rd, during the day and complete by Saturday evening.

Impacted groups include: Public Safety and Security, Residence Life, Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), and other residents of these buildings.

Planned Outages: May, 2016

May 18th:

Between 6:00am and 9:00am, the Office of Information Technology will be performing network maintenance that will impact Hawk’s Landing, ROTC, as well as security cameras in Lannon and Rashford Halls.  We expect intermittent network outages of 5-10 minutes during this time.

IT Outage: Blackboard Learn

On Sunday, April 24th, from 5:00am – 9:00am, Blackboard Learn (learn.sju.edu) will be unavailable while we perform updates.

During this time, users will be unable to log into Blackboard Learn.  Course data will not be impacted.

On Sunday, April 10th, from 3:15am – 8:00am, Blackboard Learn (learn.sju.edu) will be unavailable.

During this time, OIT will be performing database maintenance.  You will be unable to log into Blackboard Learn for the duration of this outage.  Course data will remain unaffected.

Planned Outages: Voicemail Server & Blackboard Learn

There are two upcoming outages planned by the Office of Information Technology:

1.) On Thursday, March 24th, from 6:00pm – 8:00pm, the SJU Voice Messaging system will be updated.  During this outage, voicemail services will be unavailable, including receiving or accessing messages, and automated attendant services (phone menus).

2.) On Sunday, March 27th from 3:15am – 8:00am, Blackboard Learn (learn.sju.edu) will be unavailable while we perform database maintenance. Users will be unable to log into Learn during this outage.  Course data will remain unaffected.

Maintenance: Banner Self Service – Admin Services

On Sunday, March 6th, from 5:00am – 9:00am, users attempting to access the Administrative Services of The Nest (Banner Self-Service) will need to go directly to:  https://ssb.sju.edu/

During that time, we will be performing maintenance and the service will be inaccessible through The Nest.

IT Outage: Lab Print Stations 3/7

On Monday, March 7th, from 11:00am – 5:00pm, lab print stations will be unavailable.  During that time, we will be performing an upgrade to the server that manages them.

Network Outages: Spring Break – March 7th – 11th

During the week of Spring Break, OIT will be performing Network Maintenance in numerous locations across campus.  Please see below for full details on all outages.

 

1.) On Monday, March 7th, from 3:00am – 9:00am, OIT will be performing network maintenance.  During this time, the following locations will experience intermittent loss of network connectivity:
Ziff Carriage House, Connelly Hall, O’Pake Upper/Lower Sports Complex, Nicoletti Music Studio, Paris Dining Hall, Merion Hall, Foley Center, Quinn, Dupperreault, Windrim, Gabriel Hall, Fine Arts East/West, Toland Hall, Berwick 35/39

 

2.) On Wednesday, March 9th, from 3:00am – 9:00am, OIT will be performing network maintenance.  During this time, the following locations will experience intermittent loss of network connectivity:

Science Center, Post Learning Commons, Drexel Library

 

3.) During the week of spring break, March 7th – 11th, Network Services will be performing network maintenance in Post Hall on the 2nd and 3rd floors. The 1st floor and the SJU wireless network will NOT be affected at this time.

During this maintenance window, users can expect outages lasting up to 8 hours each day on the wired network ports. This means, if you plug your computer into a network jack with an ethernet cable, you will experience outages. We recommend using the SJU wireless network for the duration.

Monday through Wednesday will affect portions of the 2nd floor. Wednesday through Friday will affect portions of the 3rd floor.
