The Women's Center is working with other on-campus organizations to further expand our mission and promote important causes and services:
The Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI) at Saint Joseph's University encourages and empowers female students to be leaders wherever they may find themselves. We promote a gender inclusive environment that fosters open conversations about relevant issues. The initiative identifies and mentors female students who want to take an active leadership role.
The purpose of R.E.P.P. is to help survivors of sexual assault and physical/emotional abuse in the SJU community. They can be survivors of stranger, date or acquaintance rape; attempted rape or sexual assault; physical abuse, or emotional abuse in a relationship.
The office of Counseling and Psychological Services promotes the psychological well-being of the SJU community through preventive programming and therapeutic interventions. CAPS provides individual and group counseling, self-help, workshops, guest lectures, referral services, consultation and training.
The Wellness, Alcohol & Drug Education (WADE) Program advocates for a campus community that supports and empowers students to make healthy lifestyles choices thus fostering academic success and a safer and healthier campus community.
The Peer Educators are a diverse group of student leaders, trained through the Wellness, Alcohol & Drug Education (WADE) program and inspired by the Jesuit ideal of cura personalis (care of the whole person). Peer Educators empower others to make positive decisions in order to live healthy lifestyles, by providing a judgment-free environment through collaborative wellness-based educational initiatives to create an informed community.
The Office of Multicultural Life, better known around the SJU campus as OML, seeks to enlighten and educate the university community at large through programming that focuses on inclusion, embracing and understanding our cultural differences. The OML is housed within the Office of Mission and provides a myriad of campus programs and services that stress the importance of a) student advocacy and campus inclusivity, b) provide mentorship relationships and various levels of advising, and c) develop leadership skill sets through campus programming, workshops, and trainings.
In the Jesuit spirit of caring for the "whole person," Student Outreach & Support offers assistance to students at times when they are in need of additional support. Student Outreach & Support offers support and guidance during difficult situations, or following critical incidents, and fosters awareness of University services and resources to help promote the student academic experience at SJU.
