The Student Inclusion and Diversity Council (SIDC) serves in an advisory capacity to the President’s Council on Inclusion and Diversity and to the Office of Inclusion and Diversity (OID). The SIDC communicates students’ voices on issues related to inclusion, diversity, and social justice; shares information from their respective organizations; and communicates from the President’s Council and OID to their constituencies.
The SIDC is co-chaired by the University Student Senate Chairperson for Inclusion and Diversity and the Assistant Provost for Inclusion and Diversity and is composed of members from SJU undergraduate and graduate governance organizations, departments serving historically underrepresented student populations, as well as four at-large student representatives. SIDC members serve for one year, and they may be reappointed for a second year by their respective organizations and offices. Applications for four at-large student positions are coordinated during fall semester through the Office of Inclusion and Diversity. Students serve for one year, and they may be reappointed for a second year by the OID.
