On Wednesday November 4, the McNulty Scholars Program will be hosting an in-person and virtual screening of the film Picture A Scientist, a feature-length documentary film chronicling the groundswell of researchers who are writing a new chapter for women scientists.
A biologist, a chemist and a geologist lead viewers on a journey deep into their own experiences in the sciences, overcoming brutal harassment, institutional discrimination, and years of subtle slights to revolutionize the culture of science. From cramped laboratories to spectacular field stations, we also encounter scientific luminaries who provide new perspectives on how to make science itself more diverse, equitable and open to all.
The in-person event will take place at the Cardinal John P. Foley Campus Center, Wednesday November 4 at 4:40 p.m. Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first served basis.
The on-line event will take place on a private Vimeo channel, and be available for 72 hours, starting on Wednesday November 4 at 4:40 p.m. A link to the screening will be sent out to all attendees 1-2 days before the start date.
