Chargers

Phone and laptop chargers are available for checkout at the Service Desk

 

Charging Stations

Charging stations are located on the first and second floors of the Post Learning Commons and Drexel Library. Mini desktop charging stations are available in the Café on the first floor of Post Learning Commons.

 

Computers

Post Learning Commons – first floor: PCs, iMacs

Post Learning Commons – second floor:  PCs, Mac Pros

Drexel Library – first floor lab with PCs and iMacs, touchscreen scanner, PCs for classroom instruction

Laptops (see policy)  are available for checkout and use in the Library.

 

Library Technology

Copiers

A black-and-white copier for HawkCard-use only is located in the printer alcove across from the rows of computer workstations on the first floor of the Drexel Library. The charge is .10 cents per copy (a double-sided sheet counts as two copies). A color copier is available in the Campion Building.

 

DVD/VHS Viewing

There are two viewing carrels adjacent to the South Wing (microfilm area) equipped with DVD/VHS players and monitors. There is one media viewing room (Rm. 122) on the first floor of the library. Audio headsets are required for quiet listening at the carrels and can be borrowed from the front desk.

 

Laptops

Mini laptops can be borrowed (for in-library use only). Use of the laptops is determined by a default single-user logon and will not allow access to your personal cloud space on the University Network. Cloud Services like Google Drive and Dropbox can be accessed using the laptops. See Laptop Policy for more information.

 

Microfilm Scanner Station

Printing

To print documents sent from library computers or via mobile print to printer, log in or swipe your HawkCard at the printing station, select your print jobs, and click the PRINT button, then log out.

To use mobile printing, mail your document as an attachment and send your documents to: mobileprint@sju.edu and pick up your job from any printer in the library.

There is one black and white printer and one color printer in the Drexel Library, first floor printer alcove. There are three black and white printers and one color printer in the Post Learning Commons. There is one color printer on the second floor of Post Learning Commons.

 

Scanning

The Library has one touch-screen scanner and a flatbed scanner available on the first floor near the Service Desk.  An additional flatbed scanner is located on the second floor of the Post Learning Commons. 

 

Self-Checkout

The kiosk located at the Information Desk permits you to check out a book on your own.  You can also check your library record and renew materials at the kiosk.

 

Support

Basic support is available for all Library technology. During business hours look for Tech Support Students located at the Service Desk or Michael Brooks, Technology Support Coordinator.  Alternatively, the Technology Service Center (TSC) can be contacted from the black phone at the Service Desk on the first floor Drexel Library and second floor Post Learning Commons or by calling extension 2920.

 

Wireless Access

Turn WiFi ON and choose the wireless network called “sjuwireless.” Enter your NEST username and password when prompted and choose join.
