In November 2019, Pope Francis and Rabbi Abraham Skorka (University Professor at Saint Joseph's University) discussed the significance of the upcoming Hanukkah and Christmas seasons. They spoke of recent outbursts of prejudice and violence in many countries, including antisemitic attacks and hostility toward migrants, as incompatible with the vision of religious freedom and universal peace of the two holydays.
