Richelle Payne, CCP is assistant director for business development at The Initiative for Family Business & Entrepreneurship, bringing more than 20 years of experience in branding, public relations and nonprofit association management to help clients build credibility, protect reputation and maintain competitive business advantage. A former journalist, English professor, head of college relations and executive at two family-owned firms, her expertise in reaching and engaging diverse, complex audiences at all levels of brand awareness helps clients create goodwill as they do good business.
Prior to joining St. Joseph’s, she founded a boutique PR firm and has worked with some of the most respected personalities and on exciting projects, including: the T.D. Jakes School of Leadership; Philadelphia Eagle’s Walter Thurmond Foundation for Arts & Education, former San Diego Charger Terrell Fletcher, the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, Houston’s Lakewood Church, Dallas’ The Potter’s House, Cloud Ten Pictures and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.
She is president emeritus for the National Black Public Relations Society, Inc. (NBPRS), alumnus of Leadership Frisco (Texas), and has served on the board of directors for the Hampton (Virginia) Jazz Festival, Hampton Bay Days and Dress for Success Dallas. She has received awards from the Dalton Pen Company; American Corporate Video and the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).
Richelle holds a B.A. in English from Hampton University and the M.A. in Corporate Communication from Duquesne University.
