Teaching Library Research Skills Online

Cindy Slater, Business Reference Librarian from the Drexel Library, has developed a series of online tutorials to teach basic research skills to students.  Cindy produced these segments with the help of Alex Zebango, in the I.T.D.L., using Camtasia video capture software.  The tutorials were presented to students in all sections of Accounting 1011 and 1015, through their Blackboard course sites.  The segments contained exercises for the students to complete, which generated a Gradebook entry upon completion.

Anyone who would like to access these tutorials for their own classes can obtain them from the following Business Research links:

EnCorr software offers the tools to research, create, analyze, and implement optimal asset allocation strategies within a single platform, and helps build portfolios designed to generate robust returns at varying risk levels.  It is available for use in the Wall Street Trading Room and the Campbell Library.

A representative from Morningstar will be here to give an overview of the Encorr platform and answer your questions about it on:

Date:  Thursday, October 23, 2008
Time:  11:30 – 1:00
Place: MV 295

Lunch will be provided.  Please RSVP to Peggy Allen at pallen@sju.edu if you can attend.  Graduate Assistants are also welcome!
