Once again, the Wall Street Trading Room, in conjunction with the SJU College Chapter of Global Association of Risk Professionals, recognizes the top SJU student performers in the Hawk Portfolio Competition. Participants practice investing in a fun, risk-free way, while learning about the various Wall Street Trading Room resources. Approximately 220 students competed in this simulation game during the Spring semester.
The competition, which is open to all SJU students, runs for approximately 12 weeks each semester. Competitors receive $200,000 of starting cash equity. Transactions cost $10 and minimum purchase price per share is set at $5. Only stock purchases and short sales are available to competitors.
Each week the top three competitors are listed in the Wall Street Trading Room. At the end of the competition, students met for a wrap-up party where the top 10 winners were invited to speak about their strategy. The top 10 performers received a t-shirt and certificate for their efforts.
