RefWorks

A reminder that Drexel Library offers RefWorks, a web-based bibliography and database manager.  This tool allows you to create a personal online bibliographic database, import references from SJU’s databases and automatically format your papers and bibliographies.

A handout on the basics of using RefWorks is available here.

For additional information and to create your own Refworks account, please visit: http://www.sju.edu/resources/libraries/drexel/tutorials/refworks/index.html

Add Subtitles to Video

If you post videos online, it’s a good idea to consider including subtitles with the video.  In addition to being ADA compliant, subtitles can add insight on how a clip is viewed and make your video more easily searchable on the web.  There is a free, easy to use online platform that allows you to upload a clip and add subtitles,  called Universal Subtitles. Watch the video below for an overview of how the platform works.  Then…try it yourself!

Web 2.0 Bibliography Tool

Looking for an easy to use bibliography tool? BibMe is a free, online citation creator that supports MLA, APA, Chicago, and Turabian formatting.  It allows you to fill in the name of your source (book, magazine, video, etc.) and completes the citation information by searching external databases. BibMe will then format the information and compile a bibliography according to the chosen guidelines. The user can save the created bibliography in an online account and/or download to a Word document. The site also provides the style manuals’ guidelines for citing references manually.
