*Students moving into Pennbrook Hall may sign up for a Move-In Appointment between Thursday, August 19-Sunday, August 22nd. Move-In Appointments will be available on August 2nd.

Signing up for a Move-In Appointment

Move-In Appointments are scheduled through the Housing Portal within the Nest. This is the same Portal where students completed the Housing Agreement, viewed their Room Assignment, and confirm their Dining Plan.

Appointments are limited to one appointment per student.

Accessing the Housing Portal

  1. Log into the Nest (
  2. Under the "Student Services & Resources" section at the bottom of the page, find "Housing & Dining Services."
  3. Click on the "Housing Application" link to access the Housing Portal.
  4. Within the Portal, click on the "Appointments" link in the gray menu at the top of the page
  5. Select the Academic Year.
  6. Within the calendar view, select from any of the available appointment times listed. Students are only able to view appointment times for their building.

Students may cancel and select a new appointment time within the Portal if their schedule changes.

*Students who have signed up for a Drop & Go Appointment are unable to schedule a second Move-In Appointment.

Where do I go on my Move-In Day?

Check-in, key-distribution, and unloading will occur in parking lots near students’ residence hall.  Follow the directions on the Move-In Map (linked below) to be directed to your unloading area. Be advised that you may be asked to wait for a unloading space to become available before you are permitted into the lot. We will do our best to keep the traffic flowing so that unloading spaces are available at your appointment time, but it is imperative that students and their families adhere to their appointment and relocate their vehicle as soon as it is unloaded.  To assist with this expectation, while unloading, one person is required to remain with the vehicle at all times.

Drop and Go

We are excited to again offer the Drop & Go process as a move-in option for those students who can travel to campus easily.  Students who register for the Drop & Go process are able to drop off their items directly to their room a week early, and then return to campus to stay on move-in weekend.  This is helpful for students to avoid traffic and congestion and ease their way back to campus.  Please consider this option if you are able, as it helps the entire SJU community reduce traffic and volume on move-in weekend.
