Summer Project Support
Philadelphia Insurance Scholars will receive stipends at Philadelphia Insurance Company offices during the summer. After discussions with Philadelphia Insurance staff, Scholars will be placed in full-time administrative positions where they can learn about financial management, organizational strategy, and insurance administration.
Eligible candidates must be Junior-year students enrolled full-time at the Haub School of Business at Saint Joseph’s University. The Philadelphia Insurance Scholars Program is looking for unusually mature students with a record of academic achievement, extracurricular activity, and leadership ability. Successful candidates will be Finance majors in the Insurance track, will maintain at least a 3.0 grade point average and they will be curious about administration and/or business. The Program hopes to foster future leaders who pursue a vigorous, broad undergraduate education while participating in community service, engaging in campus activities, and exploring their vocational calling outside the classroom.
The Program commits financial support and personal assistance to each Philadelphia Insurance Scholar. Scholars commit themselves to regular contact with the Program Coordinators, service in their community, and commitment to their assignment.
Students apply in the Finance department in Mandeville Hall. The Program Committee screens applicants and selects finalist candidates.
