Computer Science Major


The Department offers an ABET accredited B.S. in Computer Science program. The undergraduate program prepares students for professional careers and for advanced degree programs. Students learn to solve problems using the tools of computer science: networking, database management, artificial intelligence, 3D game development, graphics, web technologies, etc. Not only do students learn the science of the field in this program, but also the art of computer science as a creative endeavor.


Information Technology (IT) Major


Saint Joseph’s information technology major enables students to maintain a business network infrastructure. With a curriculum focused on designing, developing, deploying and maintaining computer‐based systems, IT professionals are integral assets to any organization. Graduates are qualified to work as IT consultants, web developers and software engineers, and to pursue a master’s degree in a related field.

Computer Science Minor


In all fields, knowledge of technology is an asset. Graduates of any discipline may be assigned duties such as web site management, web building and social media marketing, or asked to manage computer systems or online design tools. A minor in computer science prepares graduates for the technological side of any career by providing them with basic knowledge that will set them apart in the workplace. Minors leave SJU with problem solving and technical skills that are valued by many employers.
