Spring ’21 Semester COM Gear Room Hours
Monday: 12:30 – 2:00 pm
Tuesday: 8:30am – 12:00 pm & 2:000 – 3:00 pm
Wednesday: 12:30 – 2:00 pm
Thursday: 8:30am – 12:00 pm & 2:000 – 3:00 pm
Friday: 12 – 2pm
All gear is due by 12:00 noon two days after rental. You may request one 48 hour renewal by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org at least 12 hours prior to its due date/time. Requests will only be granted during the hours when the Gear Room is open and staffed. If a prior reservation has been made for your gear, however, you may not be granted a renewal and must return your gear.
Please ring the Bell located in the front entryway of Bronstein Hall. A Gear Room Worker will come downstairs to help you. PLEASE DO NOT GO UPSTAIRS TO THE SECOND FLOOR.
You may either walk in and ring the bell during business hours or email email@example.com to make a reservation request. To make a reservation, include the following information: name, student ID number, the course for which you will be using the gear, the specific gear you want to check out, and the date and time you would like to pick your gear up. You will receive a reply within one business day. When you pick up your gear, either by reservation or walk-in, you must bring your student ID.
If your gear is not returned by 12:00 noon on its due date directly to gear room employees, it is late. You will be charged $20 per day until the gear is returned during business hours. Do not leave gear unattended in Bronstein Hall hoping someone will check it in for you. This will be regarded as lost gear. You are responsible for gear while it is in your possession, including loss and damage.
2020 Check Out Procedure:
The Gear Room is happy to announce that we are updating some procedures for the Spring Semester to ensure a faster, more convenient experience for those renting equipment. In order to make the process run more smoothly for everyone, we are asking that all faculty and students submit the following information to firstname.lastname@example.org with the header “Account Information” before you go to rent equipment:
Name: (First and Last)
SJU Email: (Example: email@example.com)
Student ID Number: (Example: 10XXXXXX)
Majors and Minors: (Example: Communications major, English minor)
Phone Number: (Cell or Home, whichever is more convenient for contact)
