Directions, Travel, and Campus Parking

If you are planning to drive to campus for the ceremonies, please allow adequate time for parking. Continuous round trip shuttle service will be offered throughout the day from the Mandeville Hall Lot and Hawks’ Landing (54th & City).

By Car:

From the North:
New Jersey Turnpike to Exit 6 (PA Turnpike connector).
Follow PA Turnpike to Exit 20 (Rte.476).

Follow Rte. 476 South to Rte. 76 East, toward Philadelphia.
Follow Rte. 76 East to Exit 339 (Rte. 1, City Avenue).
Follow two miles to SJU.

From the East:
From the Ben Franklin Bridge (via Rte. 676) or the Walt Whitman Bridge:
Follow Rte. 76 West to Exit 339 (Rte. 1, City Avenue).
Follow two miles to SJU.

From the South:
Interstate 95 North to 476 North. Follow 476 North to Exit 5 (Rte. 1).
Follow Rte. 1 North to SJU approximately 10 miles.

From the West:
PA Turnpike to Exit 326 (Valley Forge).
Follow Rte. 76 East, toward Philadelphia, to Exit 339 (Rte. 1, City Avenue).
Follow two miles to SJU.

From the Airport:
Interstate 95 North to Rte. 76 West. Follow Rte. 76 West to Exit 339 (Rte. 1, City Avenue).
Follow two miles to SJU.

From 30th Street Amtrak Station:
Rte. 76 (Schuylkill Expressway) westbound to Exit 339 (Rte. 1, City Avenue).
Follow two miles to SJU.

By Train:

Amtrak services the Philadelphia metropolitan area with several trains daily, all via 30th Street Station (30th & Market Streets in Center City).  Click here for on-line reservations and schedule information.

By Regional Transportation:

Saint Joseph’s University’s is accessible by using SEPTA, Philadelphia’s public transit system. From Center City Philadelphia, take the R5 train (Paoli/Thorndale) to Overbrook Station. Shuttle service is available from Overbrook (63rd Street & City Avenue) to main campus. Click here for schedule and fare information.

By Air:

  • Mandeville Hall Lot and Hawks’ Landing Multi-Level Parking Facility (54th & City) open parking – shuttle service provided
  • Merion Place Lot – (between Wendy’s and The Press) – Open for parking
  • Ashwood Hall Lot / Moore Hall Lot / Merion Gardens/ Townhouse Lot – (City Ave. & Overbrook Ave.) – All open for parking
  • Duperreault Lot – ungated – open access (no parking in upper lot beyond bollards)
The following are designated parking areas for Commencement events:
V.I.P. Parking/Board of Trustees – St. Thomas Lot (Overflow to Bronstein)
Golden Hawks Class of 1965- 5800 City Avenue (Overflow on Cardinal Avenue directly outside the entrance to 5800 City Avenue)

PCOM – Monument Parking Lot
Monument Road at Stout Road

  • Parking will be available from 8:00am to 6:00pm
  • Parking lot will be monitored by SJU Public Safety
  • Shuttles will run from the PCOM Monument Lot to Commencement continuously

DIRECTIONS
From Saint Joseph’s University:
Head northeast on US-1 N/City Ave for approximately 1.8 miles;
Turn right onto Monument Road;
Continue on Monument Road for 0.2 miles;
Destination will be on the Left at the Stout Road intersection.

From I-76:
Take exit 339 for US-1 S/City Ave
Continue onto US-1 S/City Avenue for 0.3 miles;
Turn left onto Monument Road;
Continue on Monument Road for 0.2 miles;
Destination will be on the Left at the Stout Road intersection.
