The Baccalaureate Mass will be held on Friday, May 19, 2017 at 5:15 p.m. in the Michael J. Hagan ’85 Arena. This liturgy is a Eucharistic celebration in the Catholic tradition of the University. All graduates and families are welcome to attend regardless of faith denomination.
Commencement robes should not be worn for the Baccalaureate Mass.
Guest Arrival and Seating
Those planning to attend the Baccalaureate Liturgy are urged to arrive early, as there is no reserved seating. Please feel free to sit with family and friends.
Elements of Liturgy
The liturgy will include the Introductory Rites, the Liturgy of the Word, the liturgy of the Eucharist, the Commissioning of Graduates, and the Concluding Rites. Music and prayers for the celebration will be printed in the Liturgy program, which will be distributed by ushers to all guests present.
Distribution of Communion
Eucharistic ministers will be stationed at several positions for an efficient distribution of communion, and the ushers will direct guests to the nearest station.
Following the Commissioning and Concluding Rites, the Jesuits con-celebrating will process out as the closing hymn is sung.
