The Writing Center opened on Tuesday, Sept. 6, for the fall 2011 semester. We are located in Merion Hall (ME) 162. Our business hours are Monday – Thursday, 11:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m., and Friday, 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. In addition to offering traditional tutoring services for undergraduate and graduate student writers, we also offer digital writing consultations for students working on multimedia projects. As with any of our services, students can call the Writing Center at (610) 660-1341 to make an appointment or stop by the Center. Our digital writing computer stations are equipped with iMovie, Audacity, Powerpoint, Soundslides, Photoshop, InDesign, and Dreamweaver. Students are also welcome to reserve one of the digital writing stations for work on their own. There is a one-hour limit if other students are waiting. Additionally, we have three PC work stations and three MAC stations that are available to students working on any kind of writing/research project. Students are welcome to sign up for these stations on a first-come, first-serve basis. While we do not offer printing privileges, the Merion Hall print station (ME 151) is just across the hall from the Writing Center and all print jobs from the computers in the Writing Center may be sent there. If our computers are full, students can use the computer classroom in ME 383, as long as there is no class scheduled. Access to this room is through swipe card access. This room is equipped with 44 computers, which also print to the ME 151 print station. For more information, visit our website at http://www.sju.edu/writingcenter.
