A goal of the New Jersey Food Council (NJFC) is to provide scholarships to students, employees and families of NJFC member companies and staff. This program will provide member benefit investment in the future of the food industry and families of NJFC.
ELIGIBILITY & SCHOLARSHIP AWARD
Those eligible to apply are New Jersey resident students of Saint Joseph’s University who are food marketing majors. Graduate students are not eligible to apply for this scholarship. Previous recipients of the Raymond J. Maniaci Education Scholarship Award may not reapply.
The Raymond J. Maniaci Education Scholarship Award is in the amount of $8,000.
A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) must be attained and confirmed.
SELECTION OF WINNERS
A Selection Committee comprised of the Maniaci Family will meet in the Spring to select the winner. In evaluating the applicants, the committee considers the applicants’ grades, written essay, letter of recommendation and financial need. Students must be in good standing and free from disciplinary actions. The winner is selected largely on the basis of academic merit with a 3.0 cumulative GPA or better, essay, letter of recommendation and financial need. (Demonstration of special financial need is weighted higher.) All applicants are notified of the results by the end of May.
To assure complete impartiality in the selection of the winner and to maintain a high level of professionalism in dealing with students and parents, the Raymond J. Maniaci Education Scholarship Program is managed through oversight of the NJFC Education Scholarship Selection Committee.

Deadline for submission of applications is April 19, 2021.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF RECIPIENT
The scholarship recipient must enroll as a full time college student majoring in food marketing at Saint Joseph’s University in the Fall of the year in which the scholarship is awarded and continue in school for the entire academic year without interruption, barring illness, emergency or military service. The scholarship check will be mailed to Saint Joseph’s University for credit to the selected student’s account.
PAYMENT OF SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS
The scholarship payment is made in the following way. On or about July 15, the scholarship check will be sent to Saint Joseph’s University for the scholarship recipient for the academic term. Checks are made payable to the college.
