5 Things to Do Your First Weekend at SJU

Congratulations returning SJU students, you have almost made it through the first week of classes!  Wondering what to get involved in your first week back at school? Here are 5 things to look into during your first weekend back in Philadelphia and on Hawk Hill:

Phillies Game

Whether you are a diehard Philly sports fan or just want to get off campus for a few hours, head over to Citizens Bank Park to see the Philadelphia Phillies take on the New York Mets this weekend!  The Phillies also have a Student Steal program where students pay $20 and can receive admission to the park, as well as a voucher for one free meal.

Reading Terminal Market Food Tour

Haven’t been to Reading Terminal Market since Orientation?  Get the full experience and go on a food tour through Hawk Hill Productions.  And even better, round-trip Septa fares are included in your ticket!

Get your tickets now at sjutickets.com

Made In America Festival

This annual two-day event at the Benjamin Franklin Parkway not only includes music guests like Travis Scott and Cardi B, but is a great way to see some of your favorite artists or bond with your roommates.  Tickets are still available and you can easily use Overbrook Station to get to your destination!

Waterfront Day

Located at Penn’s Landing, The 3rd Annual Waterfront Day offers fun attractions like ferris wheel rides and a view of fireworks over the Delaware River.  While you are there, you can venture over to Spruce Street and check out different shops and restaurants!

The Philadelphia Museum of Art

As a staple destination in Philadelphia, the Philadelphia Museum of Art is a place that never gets old.  With beautiful exhibitions and pay-what-you-wish admission this Sunday, there is no reason for you to not to take a few friends and explore the museum.

Have a fun and safe three-day weekend, Hawks!  We look forward to seeing you back on campus on Tuesday!!
