1. Put yourself out there.

Say “Hi” to everyone you meet. The person sitting right next to you is nervous too and who knows, they could become your best friend, roommate, or study buddy.

2. Finish those placement tests!

Make sure to complete your math and language placement tests or you won’t be able to register for classes. You can check the status of your to-do list on The Nest.

3. Be loud and proud.

Screaming at the top of your lungs is not frowned upon. We want you chanting and cheering. We want this to be the best experience for you!

4. Hydrate.

We are moving at all times and you’re going to need that H20! Want to know what else to bring? Go here.

5. Open yourself to new people.

While you may feel nervous or awkward, know that the person next to you is feeling the same exact way. Be open and inviting to new friendships that will start on that very first day at orientation.

6. Hang up and hang out!

Put the phone down and hang out with us. The Red Shirts are here for YOU and we want this experience to be nothing short of perfect.

Get ready to get paint all over you while you drip in sweat! The BLD (Black Light Dance) is like no other and cannot be compared to anything you will ever see on another campus.

8. Stay true to you.

College will open your eyes to a lot of new perspectives and experiences, but don’t feel pressured to change who you are.

9. Don’t blink.

High school goes by in the blink of an eye. In college, you’ll miss the blink. Take in every moment Class of 2022, these next few years will be over before you know it.

10. Take three deep breaths. Look around. Smile. You are home.
